Size of Tent Pads: 10x10 6x6

Distance to Office/Boat Landing: 3 ¾ Miles to office, 4 to Haines landing

GPS Coordinates: 44o 55’ 36.70” N

                                70o 50’ 17.59” W

Shoreline: Small stones, small sand patches

Boat Access: Watch for rocks on the way in to the site, gets shallow about 20 feet from shore; watch for stone jetty just to the left of the beach on the site front.  There is a channel to the right of the site front that is accessible by a short path and provides excellent depth, tie offs and protection from  the wind.

Description: This is a wooded site on the west side of Farrington Island.  The site faces Wildwood Cove and receives the afternoon sun.  The site itself has ample room for tents, but there are also spots for those with pup tents that like to be nestled in the woods.  The channel mentioned in the boat access section makes the island accessible for even the largest boats at all times of the year.  Rent both sites and have the island to yourself.

Farrington Island #2

Size of Tent Pads: 12x12 2-10x10 8x8

Distance to Office/Boat Landing: 3 ¾ Miles to office, 4 to Haines landing

GPS Coordinates: 44o 55’ 36.76” N

                               70o 50’ 14.30” W

Shoreline: Small stones, shale

Boat Access:  Watch for rocks on the way in to the site, gets shallow about 20 feet from shore; watch for stone jetty just to the left of the beach on the site front.  There is a channel to the left of the site front that is narrow but accessible by most boats (18’ or smaller) when the water is high.  Also, there is a channel on the point of the island between the two sites that provides excellent depth, tie offs and wind protection.

Description: This is an open, grassy site on the north side of Farrington Island.  This site has views of Students Island, the eastern shore, the Bemis range, Bald Mountain and more.  This site receives sunlight for all but the waning evening hours is usually well-protected from the wind. The grassy area is large and provides ideal tent pads.  Rent both sites and have the island to yourself.
